Nigerian Customs Salary Structure in Nigeria 2024 Updated

Nigerian Customs Salary Structure: Officers in the Nigerian military are paid according to rank, like other paramilitary agencies. For example, Immigration and Civil Defense employ officers with salaries based on their ranks, while Federal Road Safety Corps do it for police personnel. Nigeria’s armed forces offer many career opportunities, so you can be part of its history by joining this great service.

We hope that with the new minimum wage which was increased from ₦18,000 to ₦33,000, we will also see these salaries added for customs officers in Nigeria. The consolidated paramilitary salary structure has been designed not only to accommodate a range of wages, but also to provide stability and certainty throughout an officer’s career

With these changes being implemented across various sectors including education administration etc., it is important now even more than before when dealing specifically about government jobs because there could be some gap between what someone gets paid at any given time compared to rises or fallouts elsewhere within their organization.

ALLOWANCES IN NIGERIAN CUSTOMS

The allowances listed below are available in the Nigeria Customs Service. This however does not mean all persons working with it are entitled to these benefits, but they may still want them for their family once off-duty.

The allowance for each personnel’s rank is customized to their duties and responsibilities. For example, rent allowance only goes to officers not provided accommodation by the Nigerian Government

The Nigeria Customs Service has different allowances based on duty positions, with some being more significant than others depending upon how far up in ranking you are as well as what your job entails. For instance, there would be no need for an officer to have his own apartment if they work closely alongside other staff members, so all accommodations can fit together nicely without any gaps between them which creates traffic problems when people have nothing particular around him.

The allowance includes:

  • Utility allowance
  • Hazard allowance
  • House maintenance allowance
  • Uniform maintenance allowance
  • General Services allowance
  • Torchlight allowance
  • Detective allowance.
  • Hardiness allowance
  • Plain-Cloth allowance
  • Furniture allowance
  • Personal Servant

The Nigerian Customs Salary Structure in Nigeria (2024)

The Nigeria Customs Service has announced that all employees of the para-military will receive an increase in salary due to new minimum wage legislation. The Consolidated Para Military Salary Structure (CONPASS) is what this changeover entails, with basic pay rising by 20% and allowances for housing rent/mortgage payments doubling as well.

The least paid customs officer in Nigeria is the Inspector, who can make ₦27, 779 monthly with an additional ₦4,000 if they are not provided accommodations.

A custom officer earns ₦75,000 per month on average and about ₦1 million per year. The pay varies depending upon the level of service as well as education.

In order from the highest salary to the lowest, the Controller-General of Customs gets paid a gross annual income that ranges between $365K-$495K. Next up is Deputy Controllers General who make about 100k more than what’s given out by law for them and Assistant Controller Generals take home around 85 thousand dollars each year which isn’t too shabby considering this position requires graduation with an Accounting degree at the minimum.

The recent minimum wage increase will be a great benefit for officers of customs service, who now have higher salaries and better opportunities.

List of Ranks in Nigerian Customs Service

Custom officers work in a wide range of environments, and some may find it difficult to get promoted. The ranking system used by Nigerian Customs is quite different from other para-military organizations, which can make it challenging for someone looking to enter or progress within their government career pathways with this agency – especially since there’s no centralized database detailing what rank somebody obtained before entering service.

A salary structure depends on level; if you want an idea about potential earnings when joining up, then allocating funds towards learning more will be worthwhile because officer positions are highly competitive these days due to high demand.
