Latest News on NPC Recruitment 2024/2025 Census: NPC Rolls Out Fresh Update on Recruitment
The National Population Commission (NPC) has provided an update regarding rumors spreading about its alleged recruitment campaign.
The commission issued a statement distancing itself from reports on social media that its recruitment webpage is still active.
The recruitment portal used for the trial census has been shut down, according to a statement released on Monday and signed by the commission’s Director of Public Affairs, Isiaka Yahaya.

The statement claims that because recruitment-related material is always disseminated through appropriate means, the information is an attempt by criminals to cheat the public of their trust.
“The National Population Commission has become aware of a phony portal that is spreading on social media platforms and enticing Nigerians to apply for jobs with the Trial Census and the 2024 Census.
He said, “The Commission wishes to state that this material is wholly false and deceptive, and that it should thus be viewed as a scheme by fraudsters to defraud unwary members of the public, particularly job candidates.

The Commission distances itself from the portal and affirms that its recruitment portal for the ongoing Trial Census is no longer operational and was shut down as soon as the Commission finished its hiring for the exercise.
IS NPC Recruitment Still Ongoing?
It will be recalled that on May 30, 2024, the Commission announced via its social media platforms and also widely reported on other national mainstream media the opening of an e-recruitment portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the Trial Census exercise nationwide at https://recruitment.adhoctrial.nationalpopulation.gov.ng.
The Director stated that the trial census began on June 27, 2024, and that the recruitment of the 14,461 field functionaries has been completed.
He gave the Nigerian people assurances about its dedication to transparency in the management of all operations relating to the conduct of the 2024 Census, including the hiring of temporary personnel.

“All communication on Commission-related topics will be shared via the NPC website, verified social media channels, and media advertisements, among other official outlets.
“The National Population Commission is making every effort to identify the individuals responsible for the phony recruitment site. The Commission will not hesitate to use the full force of the law to punish offenders in its effort to conduct the first fully digital Population and Housing Census in Nigeria next year that will be credible and acceptable, so con artists are similarly advised to stop their dishonorable act, he said.
